I don’t know.
Bored, unmotivated. Trying to inspire myself in these weird times.
Examining my own creative process may be useful… to myself at least.
My avatar…

…is from a long time ago when my wife and I were transportation cyclists. We didn’t own a car for 10 years in a city with little in the way of public transportation. We called ourselves the Spinning Wheels, a nod to Gandhi. Then we became foster parents to teenaged girls (best/worst thing I ever did) for another 10 year period.
My lovely bride earned a good living and in about 2000, I started writing again. In college (1972 – 1977, I majored in Pot and playing Bridge (the card game 😦 )) I wrote a lot of poetry and studied screenwriting. I had decided at about age 16 that my brain was constantly thinking in words and I ought to try and make a living at it.
In ’77, I married my lovely bride, the amazing woman I am still married to all these years later. Shortly after we got married (weeks), she got pregnant & I joined the Air Force to support my wife (babies are free (!) in the military). After 6 years under (and I do mean “under”) F-4E (Phantom’s) aircraft practicing the end of the world, I left the USAF and returned to Austin. For the next decade & 1/2 I worked at a variety of jobs, then my wife’s salary went up significantly and I went back to writing.
I can’t say I have been a success… But I keep at it with a bit of minor encouragement/success here and there.
I also started taking pictures. Travel stuff at first, then one day at the beach I saw what the water had done to the sand and…

At first I let did little to the pictures other than adjust the lighting. After years, I started doing a bit more.

Surprisingly, even something like the above takes on a few minutes to create. I use a free program – https://www.getpaint.net/ . I try and take pictures of ugly or weird stuff and make it beautiful… or at least interesting. I have learned that the true art of photography is not what camera you use (I use a high quality Samsung cellphone camera), but how you frame the picture.
Again, just a bit of minor success as an abstract photographer.
And I am still writing. Mostly with a partner but sometimes on my own. Plays & poetry.
But I’m old (71) and struggle with long covid, so sometimes the hill seems just to steep… hence this blog.
The subject of this blog will be… “My Creative Process.” Basically, the weird way I think and what rabbit holes it leads me down and how that “guides” (?!) my creative process.
